The Symptom of Being YOU

TheSymptom of Being You: There is a symptom, that each of us possesses. A symptom that we see each time we look in the mirror. A symptom that we feel each time we inhale … and exhale. And, even when we pretend, the mask that was so carefully designed is intricately molded to the very shape of you because, let’s not forget, its origin and the grand design with a goal to hide, finds its foundation and purpose … in you. That symptom never dissipates it’s ever present. It’s like skin no matter how many tattoos, how much you try to bleach it, change it, estrange from it, it never goes away. Itonly scars; which adds, now, another chapter to the story, and another feature of the symptom of you! This symptom, if left unchecked, creates a condition and an environment that you will never escape.

You metastasize. Feeling trapped, with no one to relate Within you is your only debate. And, if you do not conform to the demands of you,the symptom breeds a form of self-hate. Which motivates you to self mutilate based on your preferred method of choice in an attempt to imitate someone or something that, in the end, possesses the same symptoms as you. The symptom of you, passed down through an entire genera- tion from the garden. A defect that we did not have upon conception when in the mind of God, yet, once birthed into this world, it attacks and plagues . Sin the ever present instigator, fraudulent motivator, and the ticking time bomb detonator. Causing one to die slowly. The urge of you becomes so strong that you begin to look for everything you can to satiate the need that this symptomimpresses upon your DNA. It heightens your senses, triggering a loss of control. Your psyche becomes obsessed with and overwhelmed by the desires. And, consciously you find yourself overstimulated by … YOU. Why is being YOU a symptom? Because “you,” is symbolic of anonymity. The symptom of you triggers a perception of self separate from the Grand Designerand Originator of Life … God.

You is a symptom because there is no awareness of US. There is no consultation in decision making with US. There is no con- sideration for how our decisions will impact US. You encompasses a level of singularity, solidarity, and indepen- dence apart from God that asserts, “I am like God,” and, “I am capable of making the choice between good and evil.” Being you asserts a self-sufficiency that finds its origin, its supply, and its ending from within. You have a perceptual view that seeks exhalation, affirmation, glorification, omnipotence, if you will, preeminence.

Life is spent fiending and chasing after the lusts of you. Know that the definition of a fiend is Satan, the devil; and when sin permeates your life, you become a fiend of you … theflesh. This is why Romans 7:18-201 asserts, as penned by the apostle Paul, “For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep doing. Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.” You see, apart from the union of humanity with God, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, there is never a transition fromyou. Jeremiah 17:92 states that the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately sick. Who can understand it? Out of the heart, flows the issues of life. The heart of YOU is the seat of soul and character. It is the essence and core of the persona, beliefs, and behaviors. You the symptom of you becomes, as so defined by Webster3, a physical or mental featureindicative of disease; a sign of the existence of something undesirable. An indication.

A mark.

A mutation of life, because the purpose for which you were created, and the justification that lies embedded in your DNA,morphs into something unnatural, anomalous, bizarre, eccentric.

True evolution into the pre-destined purpose and the supernatu- ral identity that envelopes your soul, can only be when youbecome us, and are no longer identified as independent, but interdependent. It is at the recognition of WE, God and I, the God thattakes up residence in me, that is my source of strength, purpose, providence. As I regurgitate all that life has taught me about thebeauty of individuality and uniqueness, I, now, fully embrace that my only individuality and uniqueness lies in you; and thatmakes me the

rarest of all that God created.

Union with God, makes me authentic. Union with God, makes me truly beautiful.

The goal is transformation and transcendence from you, to transformation into His image with ever increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

You is a symptom.

Us is divine.
