Guidance for Daily Decisions is found in Surrendering and Submiting

Everyday that we awaken, we are faced with unlimited possibilities. Daily, there are choices before us that need to be made. Even if we choose not to make a choice, a decision not to choose has been made. What is a decision? Multiple online databases were consulted to develop a concise definition, one that is clear and understandable. A decision is a conclusion or resolution that is reached after weighing the positives versus negatives, benefits versus risks, and pain versus pleasure. We make so many decisions daily, in fact, we make a decision to make a decision. What is most disturbing is that often times we make that decision, mindlessly, without even counting the costs, or considering the harvest or drought that may manifest in our lives. So why are the decisions we make so important? Because they have the power to change the course of your life. I recently had the pleasure of attending a conference with the Dr. Cindy Trimm, and she gave an in-depth discussion on the power of decision. More specifically she noted, each day we awaken with limitless possibilities, and every moment is pregnant with potential. We were created as a “choosing” being, but where we most often fail, is that we are lost as to what decision to make and instead of seeking God for the strategy, we choose not to decide- delaying the plan of God for our lives.

Cindy Trimm further noted that as we embark upon each day, decisions meet us. Each time we make a choice, each time we make a decision, we are “cutting away” all other options that were present upon inception. Based on the decisions made, what we have accepted and what we have rejected, life manifests. So what manifests in your life now, is a product of past and present decisions that you have made. The right to decide, is a gift that even God Himself will not and has not taken away from humanity. Why? Because as intelligent beings, we were born with the innate capacity to choose. However, what God in His infinite wisdom has done, is availed Himself to be our spiritual guide, so that we have the ability to make prosperous and conducive decisions that bring life instead of destructive decisions that bring death. God daily leads and guides us so that we will arrive at the destination that was pre-ordained for us.

There is so much power encompassed in the decisions that we make daily. Have you given any thought to the decisions that lie before you today? Have you surrendered your day to God and submitted to His will? Have you made a decision to become submitted to God today knowing that He is the only PERFECT guide and in His Omniscience and Omnipresence, He can never lead you astray.

Remember: Proverbs 14:12 tells us that there is a way WHICH SEEMS right to a person, but its end is the way to death. Because of humanities finite wisdom, we cannot rely on what seems right in our own eyes, but must seek God for His consultation. 1 Corinthians 1:25 states for the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and weakness of God is stronger than human strength. Therefore, we must rely on God holistically for ALL of our needs, wants, desires, dreams- OUR DECISIONS! Proverbs 3:5-6 states TRUST in the Lord will all of your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways, and He will make your paths straight. Remember, a person plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps (Prov. 16:9).

In closing I leave you with this verse as motivation:
The intentions of the heart belong to a man,
But the answer of the tongue comes from the Lord.
All of the ways of a person seems right in his own opinion, but the Lord weighs the motives.
Commit your works to the Lord,
And our plans will be established.
Proverbs 16:1-4

All you need is to but Surrender and Submit to God! Then, every decision you make will be committed to God and your plans will be established.
